EXTENDED CARE SERVICES
Community Pharmacy Extended Care Services
Leyes Lane Pharmacy is now able to issue antibiotics and other prescription only medicines for the treatment of urinary tract infections in women, impetigo, infected eczema and infected bites.
Commissioned by the NHS, this Extended Care Service is offered to improve access to healthcare, with the pharmacy providing an alternative location from which eligible patients can seek advice and treatment, rather than seeking treatment via a prescription from their GP or Out of Hours provider, walk in centre or accident and emergency.
Patients seeking help with the conditions outlined above will be offered a free and private consultation at the pharmacy to determine eligibility and allow for appropriate treatment and management advice to be given.
Should antibiotics or alternative prescription medicines be required, normal NHS prescription charges will apply (free prescriptions are available to eligible patients).
